Choice Hotels Announce Top Franchisees for 2009
Melbourne, Victoria (PRWEB) October 15, 2009 -- Hotels (http://www.choicehotels.com.au/) in Wodonga, Toowoomba, Melbourne and Paihia, New Zealand, were the big winners at Choice Hotels Australasia's annual awards ceremony and dinner in Melbourne last night.
Claiming Franchisee of the Year titles in their respective brand categories were Wodonga's Comfort Inn & Suites Blazing Stump, Toowoomba's Quality Hotel Platinum International, Melbourne's Clarion Suites Gateway (for the second successive year) and Paihia's Edgewater Palms - Clarion Collection.
CHA Chief Executive Officer David Bayes presented the awards during a stylish gala dinner at the Plaza Ballroom on the final evening of the group's 2009 annual conference.
Mr Bayes said more than 260 delegates from CHA's 280 properties across Australia and New Zealand attended the awards.
"Our winning franchisees are the stand-out achievers in their particular categories and we're very proud to be able to acknowledge their success in showcasing Choice Hotels (http://www.choicehotels.com.au/)' values and commitment to service," Mr Bayes said.
The winning hotels (http://www.choicehotels.com.au/) were selected from a short list of 30 CHA Gold Award winners across the group's four brands - Comfort, Quality, Clarion and Clarion Collection.
Mr Bayes said he was delighted to announce that next year's awards would be increased to cover CHA's new value-end Econo Lodge, launched this year with eight new properties.
Nominated and judged by an executive panel from Choice's senior management and franchise service team, the Gold Awards recognise excellence in branding, marketing, customer relations, franchisor relations, training and development, profitability and amenities.
Champion of Choice awards were also presented to individuals from various properties throughout Australasia to recognise qualities of exceptional service, individual effort and commitment to building the Choice brand.
And introduced this year is the Champions of Choice Honour Roll, to recognise people who have been a multiple Champion of Choice award winner (winners lists below).
Franchisee of the Year winners automatically qualify for Choice Hotels (http://www.choicehotels.com.au/) International's International Hotel (http://www.choicehotels.com.au/) of the Year Awards, to take place in the US next year.
